FAQ's

1) Are donations to Restoring Hearts for the Brave, Inc. tax deductible?

Yes, we are a registered 501-3c non-profit organization and all donations to our organization are tax deductible.

2) Do you offer tele-health psychotherapy to your clients?

Yes, we are able to accommodate both in-person and tele-health request for clinical help.

3) Are the psychotherapists in your organization all fully licensed professionals?

Yes, all persons seeking therapy will be treated by a fully licensed professional.

4) Do you only help First Responders and Veterans?

No, we understand that the issues suffered by our 1st Responders and Veterans in many waysequally affect their families and loved ones. We offer help for those family members and lovedones to ensure that all parties can learn the skills to live in peace and health and of course,support one another through trauma.

5) What type of therapeutic approach will be used in treating those in need?

Our clinicians are well-versed in various therapeutic modalities.  We will work with the client to find the modality that is most effective for their presentation and needs.  This would include Trauma-Informed approaches as well as techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Each client’s needs will be assessed before beginning the course of treatment to determine the most appropriate plan of treatment all of which will be based on their life experiences and level of need.

6) Do you prescribe medications for your clients that may need them?

No, After completing a full bio-psycho-social assessment we will determine if the client’s level of need and functioning may benefit from a consultation with a psychiatrist.  If so, we will make the proper referrals to a board-certified psychiatrist with experience in treating persons with trauma.

7) Does Restoring Hearts for the Brave ever offer any education or presentations to civic and/or cultural support organizations in regard to trauma and the needs of our 1st Responders and Veterans?

Yes, We are prepared to spread the word of this important need in many different formats, whether it be simply supplying literature on these public health topics or in-person presentations we are most willing to illuminate this topic to all concerned and affected persons.

9) How long does treatment last?

The length of the treatment for any client will depend upon their level of need and their commitment to the treatment plan.  Obviously, there is not one set number of treatment encounters that can be prescribed for everyone.  The level of acuity and the clients desire to heal will be determinates in the term and frequency of treatment encounters. 

10) How long is a psychotherapy session?

Most psychotherapy sessions are provided in 50-minute sessions.  Some clients may want shorter sessions and if so, that would be a topic they and their therapist could discuss and work out in an appropriate manner.

11) Is there a cost associated with services for 1st Responders and Veterans?

One of the key benefits to our organization, there is no cost associated with services for 1 st Responders and Veterans.
